MY CAMPUS LIFE

“I really enjoy it here. Clemson is quite a small town and it’s very friendly. You can’t hardly go anywhere without seeing someone you know. There are all the usual stores here, as well as lots of shops selling football T-shirts, Clemson hats and college hoodies. There’s a strong college spirit here.

If you’re in town, Moe Joe’s is a great place to get a coffee and relax. I meet people there a lot, or sometimes I go and sit at a table and get homework done. It’s more of a local place than Starbucks, though that’s good too, and it’s handy if you’re out shopping and just want a quick drink.

For lunch, there are lots of chains, and fast food places, but there’s this place I like that has a little bit of everything. It’s called Paw’s Diner. They offer great Southern cooking. If I’m downtown, I like to go to Brioso. It makes amazing pastas and salads.

I also like to go to Blue Heron with my friends. It's really good – a bit fancier than lots of places. You can have traditional things like steak, or even sushi. We had a great time.

For a treat, you can’t beat ‘55 Exchange. The best ice cream ever! It’s run by students in the food sciences department. It’s pretty cool because they have these competitions where students around campus pick the flavors. I heard that the peach is amazing, especially in a fresh homemade waffle cone, but usually, I’m not that adventurous. I love the vanilla. It’s always great.”
